My path to game design started in the driveway, not the classroom. As a kid, the neighborhood crew would come to me whenever we needed a new imaginary world to play in. I was always the one dreaming up the campaign. That habit stuck, and as we all grew up together, I became the neighborhood's resident Dungeon Master, running games that got a little more ambitious every year.
I graduated with a degree in finance, but the world of gaming always called to me. That pull eventually led me into game industry consulting, where I got an inside look at how games actually get made, and it only sharpened the itch. Somewhere in those old campaign sessions, I'd already realized I wanted to make games for a living; it felt like a long shot at the time, more daydream than plan, but it turned out to be the thread that led me into the industry.
Eventually I chased it down, landing my dream role as a Game Designer at Genpop Interactive, finally getting to do for a living what I'd been doing for friends since I was a kid.
I'm still, at heart, the kid running the campaign, just with a bigger table now.
